Current Dancers


Toby Billowitz has lived in New York since 1996 and performed there and elsewhere with Jordan Fuchs, Jill Sigman, Philippa Kaye/PKC, Red Shift Dance, Lynn Neuman/Artichoke Dance Company, Jonette Ford, Ben Munisteri Dance Projects, WORKS/Laura Glenn Dance, Mary Seidman & Dancers, Ali Kenner, Mary Suk, Despina Stamos and Wen-Shuan Yang, Jill Meadows, Amalgamated Performance Group, Lostwax, Delicious Biscuit, Deborah Birrane/Unexpected Company (Seattle), Chamber Dance Company (Seattle), Alexandra Beller, Jon Zimmerman, Tony Silva Dance and Music, Noel MacDuffie, Christine Suarez, Amy Spencer, Earl Mosley, Dance First, Joanna Mendl Shaw, Holly Twining/Les Gilles Twining and Sean Curran, in no particular order. He spent eight years at White Mountain Summer Dance Festival as a resident company or faculty member. His own choreography has been seen in Virginia, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Washington, and in NYC at locations such as the LaMAMa Cafe, BRIC, and the Cunningham Studio, among others.

Tiffany Cunningham is from Dallas, TX where she began dancing at Ballet Dallas, and Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. She received a BFA from Southwest Missouri State University for Theatre and Dance Performance and a MFA from Ohio State University. She has performed with MADCO in St. Louis, MO; Hi-Jinks in Columbus, OH; LKB Dance in NY, NY; Germaul Barnes in NY, NY; and Philippa Kaye Company—since 2004.

Christopher Daftsios received a BFA from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Circle in the Square Program for acting. He has performed theatre both in New York City and Regionally and has appeared in a handful of films and commercials (played Napoleon in a national t.v./print campaign for The History Channel).This past year he's moved on to primetime with a guest lead on NBC's "Conviction" and a principle on "Law and Order". Chris began exploring dance improvisation a few years ago with Debbie Stamos in "Please Remove Shoes" (Modern Dance Festival) and "Ice Box" (Howl Festival). He went on to work with Berlin based choreographer Hannah Hegenscheidt performing in and co-creating "Klaus is Dead", "I'm Okay, You're Okay", "Trio" and "Prologue" which have been shown in Germany, England, Poland and here in NYC.

Lauren Engleman grew up in Canton, Ohio studying with The Canton Ballet. After receiving a BFA in dance from The Ohio State University in 2004, Lauren moved to NYC to persue her dance career. She studied on scholarship with the Merce Cunningham Dance Company for over 2 years. Lauren dances with the Metropolitan Opera Ballet, and in addition to PKC, she is currently dancing with Murray Spalding / Mandalas, and Christopher Caines Dance Company. Lauren has also worked with Pat Catterson, Brandon Colwes, Miral Kotb, and Alyce Finwall. She teaches ballet to children and is certified Pilates instructor.

Kristin Hapke's work has been produced in New York venues including The Joyce SoHo, Dance New Amsterdam, Dancespace and Movement Research, in Seattle's On the Boards and Velocity's Mainstage, in Portland, Eugene, OR, as well as internationally in Vancouver and Amsterdam. Her recent collaborations with multi-media artist Marlon Barrios, under the platform of Unstablelandscape have received international recognition for its emergence of improvisation and interactive technologies. For over ten years, Hapke has danced with many companies including Mary Sheldon Scott/Jarred Powell Performance, The Maureen Whiting Company and more recently with choreographers Bebe Miller, Zvi Gottheiner, and Marlon Barrios-Solano. Kristin received her Master's of Fine Arts in Dance from The Ohio State University, her BA from the University of Oregon and her Laban Movement Analysis certification from the Integrated Movement Studies Program in Seattle. She dances in the monthly improvisation group IMP.
Mika Lillit Lior was born into a strong, generous family on a kibbutz in a hot place, grew up in Toronto and has been living in New York since 2000. She holds a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College. Mika has presented her own work at Dance New Amsterdam, The Bronx Botanic Gardens, and LAVA. Inspired by her studies of West African dance in Senegal, and of Capoeira and Afro-Brazilian forms in Brazil, Mika aims to bring an inclusiveness and community spirit into both martial and performance arts. Mika teaches contact improvisation, Capoeira and acrobatics to children of all ages, and directs the dance program at Shire Village Camp. Currently, Mika dances with the Mezclado Movement Group and will perform with LAVA, a women’s acrobatics troupe, at the Flea in May, 2007.

Gena Mann grew up in Atlanta, Ga. She received her MA in Contemporary Dance from The London Contemporary Dance School (Kent University), trained at North Carolina School of the Arts and danced in 2006 at the Bessie Schoenberg Choreographers and Dancers Residency at The Yard. Since moving to New York City, she has worked with choreographers Leonides Arpon, Daniel Charon, Ellen Cornfield, Charlotte Griffin, Naomi Goldberg-Haas, Helen Simoneau and VIA Dance Collaborative. Gena wants to thank her family and friends for all their love and support.

Pauliina Silvennoinen, originally from Finland, is currently living in New York City and working with Airelise, Robin Rapoport and Philippa Kaye Company. Pauliina graduated from Turku Art's Academy Dance department, and also studied at Fontys Dance Academy, The Netherlands. She has also worked with with AB Dance Theatre, Da Art dance productions and other freelance choreographers in Finland and Sweden.

Storme Sundberg is a performing and teaching artist based in Brooklyn. Her choreography has been shown at BRIC, Joyce Soho, Lincoln Center Out-of -Doors, DTW, and in Stamford CT. Storme currently performs with Jordan Fuchs, Rebecca Lazier/Terrain, Red Shift Dance, Wendy Blum, Jen Harmon, and the Modern Dance Awareness Society in addition to her work with PKC.

Music
Langdon C. Crawford has been improvising with electronics since 1999. Starting with guitars and effects, he moved into computer music, eventually incorporating graphics and live interaction. In 2001, he began designing, composing, and performing works and systems for laptop performance and real-time interaction. Crawford has designed and performed/presented with N.B. Aldrich, John Blum, Joel Chadabe, Joan LaBarbara, Alvin Lucier, Chris Mann, and Joe Reinsel, in Bennington, VT; Montreal, Quebec; and New York City.


Computer Animation
judsoN is a director, programmer, choreographer, artist, composer ...under Doug Elkins, with Mabou Mines, Anne Bogart, ...around the world and on stages at St. Ann's, the Public, the Kitchen, art for the web at the MoMA, NY, Museum of Art (Thailand), ISCAM (Istanbul) for galleries (in Brazil, Australia, Geneva, ... )published in books and on CD-Roms in several languages.


Video Projection
Daniel Vatsky is an intermedia artist, filmmaker, and film archivist. His projects range from transcontinental multi-user installations to entirely analog performances using slide projectors and found objects. Daniel is a founding member of the performance groups Screen Memory, V4, and Kijk & Luister, and is the resident video artist for The Psychasthenia Society, an ongoing monthly event for laptop stories and music. His visuals have accompanied such artists as N.E.R.D, Ken Lishi, Miss Kitten, and David Lee Myers at such places as PS122, the Apple store, The Kitchen, the new MOMA, and in many film festivals. He is also a core member of SHARE, a weekly electronic jam session for audio and video performers.


Costume
Renee Kurz is originally from Van Buren, Arkansas where she learned to dance and sew at a very young age. She began designing dance costumes while studying dance performance and fashion design at Missouri State University.

Heather Bowiehas made costumes for the Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, MA, CityStep, Hasty Pudding Theatricals, and clothes the general public as a designer with Liz Claiborne.
Wendy Meiling Yang is a designer and co-founder of Red Humor Salon, a performance, rehearsal, and workspace in East Williamsburg, see redhumorsalon.com. Recent endeavors have included costumes for Hansel und Gretel at NYU's Experimental Theatre Wing (dir. David Neuman), costuming the staff of APT for the Halloween Pigalle party, assistant costume design and stitching for Big DanceÕs Plan B, and the set of martial arts based play White Eyebrow and the Destruction of Shao Lin.


Light
Kryssy Wright has been designing lights for dance and theater and working various production related jobs for six years. Her work as a designer has been seen in Indiana, Vermont, Massachusetts, Maine, and New York. Since relocating to New York City, Kryssy has been active with MAP Intermedia, Sens Production, Yoshiko Chuma, LSInstillations, PS122, and others. Kryssy holds a BA from Bennington College where she also studied visual art.

Carolyn Wong has designed projects for Juliana F. May/MayDance, Liz Gerring, Roxane Butterfly, Anne Gadwa, Princess Mhoon/Bridget Moore and the Thelma Hill Performing Arts Center, among others. She is a graduate of Oberlin College and a native of San Francisco, and an aficionado of pie.
